In my opinion, an average album. Nothing unusual overall
The outro on "Aesthetics of Hate" is great. A good moment in an average song
The main riff on "Now I Lay Thee Down" starts off hot, but the sequence is kind of average. The melancholic and drawn-out vocals are a bit annoying, but from the middle onwards, the energy starts, but it's still not the best moment of the album. A good one.
"Slanderous" has a catchy riff. Flynn's energy follows it. Good too. The breakdown in the middle was the best so far on this track.
"Halo" is good. Phil Demmel's solo is great. But I didn't find this track much different from the more regular tracks, although we can notice that it has some amazing moments.
"Wolves" is a little downgrade from the previous track.
Anyway, I expected more from this, but it's not a bad album. The long songs with more of the same was the low peak in this work.
Best ones:
Slanderous
Halo
Aesthetics of Hate
Bad ones:
Beautiful Morning

Endless energy and power...passion.
Can't believe it just their debut album...
Someone saids "pantera's subclass", "they don't have their own style"...
Well.. Please don't say anymore you punks.
Just sit down and enjoy this album without comparing it to pantera.
Don't forget that even Pantera is not a pioneer in this genre.
There is a power to sway the crowd under th... Read More

Burn My Eyes is a great example of Groove Metal done right. The riffs here are awesome, still with a Thrash edge and not too one-note. The rhythm section is full of energy and while there are plenty of midtempo sections, they’re usually filled with interesting drumming, or change up the patterns quickly enough that it doesn’t get too repetitive. Of course, the best parts ar... Read More
