My favorite Annihilator album. The whole thing is great. It's a different work from those old school American thrash metal bands, but still great. At times it sounds like crossover-thrash, heavy metal and pure thrash metal. I was listening to Artillery's "By Inheritance" album (from the same year) and the band's intention was probably similar to what Annihilator tried to do here, but I have to admit that this work here is better than Artillery's album. The Coburn Pharr's vocals at certain moments, such as "Road to Ruin" and the classic ballad "Never, Neverland" remind me a bit of NWOBHM. It's a set of styles where thrash metal really stands out, but leaves room for other dynamics. It was excellent.
Phantasmagoria is one of my favorite tracks because it reminds me more of that characteristic aggressiveness of thrash metal. Another good moment is Sixes and Sevens and Road to Ruin. One that took me a while to like was Kraf Dinner
Not so good:
Reduce to Ash

Read More

Read More
