A good place to start for this band, and yes, nice & old school. Feb 18, 2025

Holy *&*$*%#@+ this album starts out so powerfully. In the middle, it's not quite as excellent, but then picks up again toward the end. That's what I think, but maybe it's more that it travels through a few different moods that I don't like equally. Anyway, it's quite a banger. Feb 17, 2025

I feel like they didn't have enough to say. There's a handful of good moments. Mostly, the melodies don't feel motivated enough for me, if that makes sense, but she sings so well I can't say anything is bad. A mediocre album. Maybe listen once. Feb 17, 2025

Like symphonic black metal, but the orchestral sound is replaced with 8-bit & 16-bit. A fantastic pair of songs here. Feb 17, 2025

There's a lot of stripped-down production & songwriting, and a lot of noisiness as well. I think the point is that it's not supposed to feel intentional even though it is. Interesting and dank. Feb 16, 2025

Good everything and great vocals, each kind of vocal being excellent. A very welcoming introduction to this sludge band. Feb 16, 2025

Better than solid. This album is delectable. I won't say it's perfect, but feelings of grimness, dystopia, & destruction monopolize my attention. Feb 16, 2025

Inner strength translated perfectly into musical heaviness. So short and so sweet. Feb 16, 2025

The female vocals are fantastic. Most of the songs were solid and some were so-so. Feb 16, 2025

Besides annoyingly laying on too much feedback on track 7, everything on this album is exhilarating and impressive. Good work, Implore. Feb 13, 2025

I feel some disbelief that I'm giving an even slightly negative rating to an atmo black album. Track 2 is more or less fine. The first track is a mess and 3 & 4 fall a bit flat for me. Anyway, first release and all. Feb 13, 2025

These guys are really amazing, and the music is mostly speedy as all hell. There's a bit of power metal influence here, and one song is full on glam metal. The good news is that both of those styles are done just as well as the heavy metal and speed metal. I'm extremely impressed. Feb 13, 2025

On the softer side for black metal. Track 1 is the high point for me. Feb 13, 2025

2 guys put this together without a drummer. So it's not real drums, but there's still a feeling of fun and cooperation. Good start, and wishing you the best for your future recordings. Feb 13, 2025

Just to be clear, this is not metal. There are a couple of clean guitar parts, and the dark ambience does get a bit harsh, but this is still not metal. It's a bit hard for me to get a sense for how high I should rate this, but it's definitely positive, that's for sure. Feb 13, 2025

Depressive BM done with great finesse. It seriously made me reflect on the human condition in general. Thank you Déhà for following your inspiration. Feb 13, 2025

This singer really needs to shut up more. Some of the guitarwork is really nice, even if some parts resemble each other too much. The singing and lyrics get really annoying though. I guess this is only for eleven-year-olds. Track 11 was all right, but it can't save this album for people like me who are not eleven. Feb 13, 2025

About the first half of this album had me guessing it was going to be kind of mediocre, but the second half is fricking amazing. Feb 13, 2025

This album grabbed my attention with the insane riffing of the opening song, but it covered a nice amount of variety after that. Very solid release. Feb 13, 2025

The industrial element is the smallest part of the mix, but anyway, this band's sound is very satisfying, and it hits you with a good variety of emotions all at once. Feb 13, 2025

Overall, pretty good. Track 12 was a lot of fun, and track 5 was straight up captivating. Feb 13, 2025

With a cover photo like that, how could I resist? Nice post-black metal. Feb 13, 2025

The Dream Theater members continue their illustrious career. All these decades and they're still on target. Everything is great except for Bend the Clock; the corniness was torture for me and the astounding solos couldn't alleviate it. Still a great album, almost as good as A View from the Top of the World. Feb 9, 2025

Quite a solid album throughout. I felt kind of vindicated, like I was proving I'm not some boomer who is against metalcore. The only thing holding back the songwriting is how most of it is overly focused on forefronting the vocals. Trimming down the lyrics could make the songs deeper. Anyway, good instrumentation and nice sound. Feb 9, 2025

Some big names released new albums on Friday, and Saor shined the brightest. The melodies and the epic movements of these songs show why this artist has earned such a stellar reputation. I think I liked Origins a tiny bit more, but that shouldn't distract me from realizing what an accomplishment this inspired album is. Feb 9, 2025

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
