Released months after Sepultura's "Chaos AD", the album is very similar to Sepultura's work in some aspects, but also different in many ways. The dynamic and infectious riffs alongside the tribal touch that make Sepultura what they are come to the fore a bit in "Burn My Eyes", but it is not the main characteristic of this work. We can notice a bit more speed here with the exception of one or two tracks.
By the way, Chris Konto's drums are great here. Flynn's vocals are also incredible. Not on the level of Phil Anselmo or Max Cavalera, but still an incredible vocal that does not compromise the experience of the album, quite the opposite. The first six tracks are impeccable. The rest are good, but not on the same level. On the B-side, I think "Blood for Blood" has an addictive guitar sound, a great metal groove.
"Davidian" is an absolute hit. Fantastic, the best.
That doom metal sound in the beginning of "A Thousand Lies" makes this track more than amazing. For me, the best one outside "Davidian"
Another highlight for me is "The Rage to Overcome".
"Death Church" reminds me a lot of the Black Label Society vibe. A great song, with an elegant cadence, characteristic of bands that know how to play heavy metal without the need for speed.
It's a near-perfect album, and would be 100/100 if it weren't for the little downgrade in the B-side.
Best ones:
Davidian
A Thousand Lies
The Rage to Overcome
Death Church
None But My Own
Weakest one:
Real Eyes, Realize, Real Li ... See More

Endless energy and power...passion.
Can't believe it just their debut album...
Someone saids "pantera's subclass", "they don't have their own style"...
Well.. Please don't say anymore you punks.
Just sit down and enjoy this album without comparing it to pantera.
Don't forget that even Pantera is not a pioneer in this genre.
There is a power to sway the crowd under the stage.
They knew very well how to lead people on stage.
Robb's roaring voice, Chris's amazing drumming, Lolo's riff..
Logan's composition is beyond description.
With their power, they banded together and this eventually became their style.
No one can't deny. Making music that moves the listener's head is definitely not easy.
Perfect debut album in METAL HISTORY.

Burn My Eyes is a great example of Groove Metal done right. The riffs here are awesome, still with a Thrash edge and not too one-note. The rhythm section is full of energy and while there are plenty of midtempo sections, they’re usually filled with interesting drumming, or change up the patterns quickly enough that it doesn’t get too repetitive. Of course, the best parts are when they dial the energy all the way up and those Thrash influences shine through.
There’s a fair bit of other influence touched upon here as well, including Metalcore, Alt Metal, and even some Nu Metal. I don’t think any of that was intentional, but Machine Head managed to create a debut that sounded entirely unique at the time. Probably the best part is that it still holds up today without issue, having a much more timeless modernity to it than a lot of early Groove Metal. If I didn’t know this was 1994, I would never have been able to date this.

Burn My Eyes is a good album and I appreciate the effort I heard but I'm kinda bored with it maybe because I'm in a kind of bad mood Anyway 'Old' was a hit song

Burn my eyes is a mediocre debut album. It has its own moments with fine riffs and headbanging moments, but practically it's kind of bland. The lyrics are sometimes really cheesy too.
