Bathory의 전설적인 앨범이라고 봐도 무방한 Under the Sign of the Black Mark. 개인적인 생각인지는 몰라도, 물론 가사나 배경은 블랙 메탈이지만, 보컬의 느낌은 약간 스래쉬 메탈 같은 느낌이 있다. 그래도 블랙 메탈의 나름 대표적인 밴드로, 바소리의 그 사타닉함은 진또배기다. 앨범 커버에도 염소라 여러 번 나오는 것을 봐서는 진짜 전통적인 블랙 메탈의 밴드라고 생각한다. 개인적으로 Massacre는 악마 중에 악마 같은 곡이다. 보컬과 기타 연주가 매우 사악하다.
아마 Bathory - Bathory 다음으로 최고의 앨범이 아닌가 싶다. 물론 앨범 곡이 별로라는 것은 아니지만, 막 엄청 최고, 역사를 썼다. 이런 느낌은 들지 않지만, 앨범 자체는 좋다. 확실히 사타닉하고 악마적인 요소가 많이 들어가 있어, 블랙 메탈을 좋아하시는 분들은 충분히 알거나 이미 즐겨 들으실거다. 그만큼 블랙 메탈 씬에서 상당히 인기 있는 밴드라고 생각한다.

Bathory (Quorthon) is the type of band that is always innovating. They managed to invent 2 completely original styles of metal, Black Metal with 1984’s Bathory, and Viking Metal 6 years later on Hammerheart.
