Most songs are just stuck in the exact same moment for the whole 3 or 4 minutes, and most songs are comprised of about 80 to 90 percent identical. The vocals just garble on indecipherably, which can be okay but here it's like the music directs all our attention toward trying to decipher these vocals, which are devoid of feeling anyway. I have a hunch he put more effort into the last track, but even that one is quite bad. A very negative experience. Nov 20, 2024

The instrumentation sound pretty pro. As for the songs, they sound all right to me, but I have a feeling this one might be more for really gunhg ho brutal DM fans. Nov 20, 2024

Positive all around, but a few songs like track 9 stand above the rest by being more original. Nov 20, 2024

My pick of the day from yesterday. I loved how it focused only on the harshness, heaviness, technicality, & atmosphere but held back on the melody. Then when everything became melodically focused later on, it really hits the emotional center with force. Well planned, well made. Nov 20, 2024

With the harp it's rather unique, and there's a bunch of great vocals by the guest performers. Nov 20, 2024

The new singer is more than decent. I wish more of these songs were as good as track 6; a lot of them are just so-so. There's also too much chatting between the songs. It's supposed to be funny, but it's just filler. Nov 18, 2024

Great again from Nekus. It has that feeling of deep enclosed caverns just like their 1st album. I also get a real caveman feeling and a lot of gusto. Still extremely dark, of course. Nov 18, 2024

Friday was a fantastic day for new releases, and with this bizarre work of art, Veilburner keeps the quality as high as their other recent albums, even with the constraints of the 7-track 7-minute pledge they made for their 7th album. I loved it all. Nov 18, 2024

I was looking forward to this for months, and it's every bit as good as I hoped. All the tracks are good, but what they did on that massive final track is going to be mentioned as a major event in black metal history. This album stole my heart. Nov 18, 2024

Good & powerful funeral doom with some jazzy elements. Unorthodox and unique, especially for a first full-length. Nov 18, 2024

A fantastic and deep sadness fills this album. Good depressive BM & doom by Elysian Blaze. Nov 18, 2024

Good Death Doom. Glad to learn of this band. Nov 18, 2024

Old Forest should get a lot more recognition for the great work they've been doing since their early days. Good rough & visceral sounds on this compilation. Nov 18, 2024

Part 2 is just about as good as Part 1. Nov 18, 2024

Good evil nighttime music. Nov 18, 2024

It's pretty good at some parts, but just so-so overall for me. No part was particularly bad for me, but this is nothing compared to some later work by this very good artist. Nov 18, 2024

Respect to Disturbed for releasing this album. Commercial but still good. Tracks 1, 5, & 14 stand out to me. A lot of the more so-so songs are so similar to the better ones. Some trimming could make this a better album, not complaining though. Nov 18, 2024

I was curious if it was terrible. It's pretty good. Of course it's corny, but the major problem is that the whole album is stuck in real rut - only one mood for the whole thing. The vocals get a bit bad a couple of times, but in terms of instrumentation and composition it's all right. Nov 18, 2024

The intro is funny only once. The actual music is pretty good. Nov 18, 2024

It's a kind of music that just begs you to deride it, but it's listenable and humorous. Pretty good. Nov 18, 2024

Man, that 2nd song really blew me away. No particularly weak track here, but track 2 really emblazoned itself on my memory. Nov 18, 2024

I knew I was facing a long album, but it's just impossible for me to quit after a few tracks; I needed to keep the harsh & hypnotic music coming. One listen is also not enough. This reminds me that when you use the word captivating, it has a literal meaning. As good as all the snobby people say it is. Real inspiration and it's genuine. Nov 18, 2024

Nice album by Moonsorrow. The intro track didn't feel necessary to me. That's the only negative thing I can say; Good viking & folk metal. Nov 12, 2024

Solid all around, Acoustic and clean folky segments don't turn into filler, I was extremely pleased to find. Good epicness, emotion, & atmosphere. Nov 12, 2024

My mission was to have a viking metal Monday. I expected I'd be rolling my eyes every so often, but I actually didn't. This passionate album was the highlight of the day. Yeah, it's about half black metal, very 2nd wave, but I liked the viking parts as well. Absolutely, I can recommend this. Dark, evil, dramatic, rousing, so many good aspects here. Nov 12, 2024

This one comes in with a great opening song, and the instrumental closing track is really moving. I think the phrase 'instrumental closing track' sounds like filler to a lot of us, but that's not the case here. Overall very good. Nov 12, 2024

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
