My rating might seem mediocre, but for one of my least favorite genres (Grindcore) this is truly an impressive feat. Genuinely good songwriting and riffs can be found here. Most of the songs are too short to offer much, but even those are inoffensive at worse, which is already better than most Grindcore. I applaud this album.   Jan 13, 2025

Clayman is the album where In Flames begin to find their modern identity. Lyrics become introspective, clean vocals pop up here and there, but by and large this is still driven by their classic Gothenburg Melodeath style. Amazing masterpiece.   Jan 13, 2025

The later half of the nineties were monumental for Helloween, and thankfully they carried that flame straight into the 2000's. Dark Ride is, appropriately, probably their darkest and heaviest record (which still isn't that much for the ever playful Helloween) and it's loaded with fantastic music.   Jan 13, 2025

There's basically more Classical Music here than Metal. And it just doesn't work for me. "Prophecy Fulfilled / And the Dark Night Entered" showcases the band melding their unique style of Metal with Classical compositions, each playing to the other's strengths, but the majority of this album does not succeed in the same way.   Jan 13, 2025

Graveland has remained consistent in style, and for me, that style is... pretty average in quality. Slow, repetitive Black Metal tracks that occasionally have some quality atmosphere, but more often than not meander a bit longer than what is preferable.   Jan 13, 2025

I had high hopes for this one as a huge Fates Warning fan. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. It has very little emotion, and some of the songs are pretty great and well, composed, but nothing comes close to the emotionally gripping material on their past 4 albums. 아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

The "Ram It Down" is a very underrated album, but in 1988 in the german Metal Hammer looked like a new classic by the soundcheck.Otherwise the "Ram it Down" and the "Hard As Iron"(with thundering riff) are great fast classic Priest songs.
