A monstrous album. Black Metal can't get more brutal than this. Scum.Collapse.Eradication was kinda better imo, but this album almost meets up the quality. Nov 22, 2015

I honestly like this album a lot. You can't say this is food-for-thought type music but it's pretty fucking good, that's fo sho! Nov 21, 2015

Rush is like the holy trinity, but way better. Nov 21, 2015

Major defects : a) I just can't spell out the band name and album name correctly. b)I can't understand a word they're saying.
//
Despite these downsides, I'd say this is one of the best Death/Doom records of 2014 solely because of the amazing music. Let alone the majestic buoyant phoenix on the album cover. Nov 21, 2015

The only way I can put this is "modernized Old School Death Metal". One can definitely feel both aspects in this album, making it a great one. Nov 21, 2015

Groovy Death Metal. Reeeeally, really satisfying. Nov 21, 2015

Train of Consequences is my favorite song on this album, while A Tout Le Monde that everyone seems to worship didn't do much for me. All in all an average Thrash album. Nov 21, 2015

Darn, Sweating Bullets is an amazing song. Lil' Dave Mustainie sure knows how to play the guitar. Nov 21, 2015

I'd say that this one is almost as good as The Mantle. The feeling this album gives off... It's almost like Ashes Against the Grain, but not quite. It has an indescribable minute difference. Kinda hard to put it into words. Nov 20, 2015

How did they pull off such a thing? How in the world?? Nov 20, 2015

I luuuuv this type of Thrash. All day every day. Nov 19, 2015

New gen Thrash Metal bands can be divided into two groups usually. One is the group of bands that do punk-influenced thrash(Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, or even Havok) and the other one is the group that does Old Thrash but with a modernish touch(Fueled by Fire, Bonded by Blood and such). Warbringer, see, is one that fits in the latter group. And I'd say they're one of the best in it. Nov 19, 2015

The songs are very brutal for a Bay Area Thrash album. The second half (tracks 4-7) is my favorite. How can you resist headbanging to Above the Ashes or Leviathan!? Nov 19, 2015

Better than their debut release IMHO. If you're a Thrash Metal enthusiast or if you're looking for some good Thrash, this might be the stuff you want. Nov 17, 2015

A decent Neo Thrash Metal work, being really speedy and vehement and all the usual stuff. Though there's nothing new going on here, this band actually does know how to pull the chill thrash feeling off. Nov 17, 2015

One of the few Grindcore/Powerviolence albums that I dig the living heck out of. The female vocals are quite refreshening too, let alone the excellent riffs. Nov 17, 2015

A raging, crushing, vicious attack. Violent, brutal, furious, you name the adjective, it's pretty much true. Nov 17, 2015

This ain't a pure 100% Doom Metal record, because there are many different flavors offered here. So is it good then? Nope, sub-freaking-par is what this is. Nov 16, 2015

The title track just slays. Oh man. Nov 16, 2015

Weird Prog Thrash classic! The myriad of late '80s Progthrash bands all stemmed from this style. Nov 16, 2015

This is an embodiment of unholiness. By the time you finish a full spin you'll find yourself drinking virgin blood with pentagrams and inverted crosses tatted all over your face. Nov 16, 2015

What'd you expect form Old School Death Metal? Cutting-edge production or clean quality is nothing close to what the genre offers you. It's something much more than that. Deceased's debut full-release album will teach you what Old School really is for. Nov 15, 2015

This album is my personal favorite of MACKY(haha, doesn't the abbreviation sound silly for such a dark band?). Not that of a satisfying listen, which is exactly what you want from this genre. Nov 15, 2015

Pretty good, not really showing a drastic change of style. Both tracks are good, the melodies being all gloomy and twisted. Nov 15, 2015

The repetitive riffs are there to smother you in a dismal and hopeless pit where you ask the question to yourself again and again, "Is life any good?" Nov 15, 2015

Succumb to the heinous sounds. Do not try to resist in futility, as you'll fail; let the incessant drums pulverize your skull. Nov 15, 2015

Finnish Old School Greatness. If you think about it Finland is such a great OSDM hub, with bands like Abhorrence, Demigod, Demilich, Purtenance, Rippikoulu and many others. Nov 15, 2015

It's like a huge leap after the last one. Talk about best watershed albums! Nov 14, 2015

Weird, cuz I thought this album was pretty good. Not the best around the block, unfortunately. Nov 14, 2015

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
