Viper는 1985년 브라질 상파울로에서 결성된 밴드로 1987년 데뷔작 Soldiers Of Sunrise를 내놓았다. Theatre Of Fate는 Viper의 두 번째 작품으로 데뷔작과 비교해 월등히 업그레이드된 음악을 들려준다. 클래시컬하고 독창성이 풍부한 프레이즈를 창조해내며 큰 호평을 얻은 바 있는데, 다양한 현악기의 적절한 사용과 클래시컬한 음색의 기타사운드로 70년대 아트락이 메틀로 승화된 듯한 느낌을 준다. 베토벤의 월광소나타를 모티브로한 Moonlight등을 들을 수 있다. 본작 이후, 보컬리스트 Andre Matos가 음악적 견해차이로 탈퇴하며 계열장르에서 한 획을 긋게되는 명그룹 Angra를 조직한다.

헬로윈과 바로크 메틀에 환장하던 시절에 샀던 앨범. Moonlight를 라디오에서 듣고 샀던 앨범인데, 재밌는 건 정작 앨범을 들으니 moonlight가 참으로 저질스러웠다.
다른 음악이 미친듯이 뛰어나서 그렇다는 의미가 아니라, 말 그대로 '이게 뭐지'라는 느낌이 들을수록 심하게 드는 것이다.
