지금에서야 당연하게 쓸 수 있는 신스를 처음으로 블랙메탈에 접목시켜 블랙메탈의 다양한 길을 제시했다.
밴드의 이름 '황제'답게 이 앨범 단 한 장으로 블랙메탈의 정점, Mayhem과 Darkthrone과 함께 어깨를 나란히 하게 됐다.
심포닉 블랙으로써의 완성도는 다음작이 좀 더 높지만, 블랙메탈 내에서 이 앨범의 가치는 비교불가다.
