There's a lot going on in all of these songs. If I'm distracted I can miss some of the best parts. A good solution is to listen many times as the years go by, and even when I'm distracted the dramatic atmosphere and visceral moods make it worthwhile.   1 day ago

Gorgeous vocals and great vocal melodies. The guitarwork gets epic. Everything works very well. Even the ambitiously long last track goes for 20 minutes without a hitch. Great Heavy metal here.   2 days ago

Mostly pretty good. Tracks 11 and 12 stand out as really nice metalcore songs, and track 7 gets a bit unorthodox and a bit non-metal but works very well. Even though I'm not much for metalcore, this was still a pretty positive experience.   2 days ago

While this album goes out with a magnificent bang, I feel like most of it is too focused on virtuosity and nuance. The opportunities to forefront a very evocative melody or a satisfying resolution seem to be missing from a lot of songs. Maybe it's just plainly metal for jazz fans, and therefore doesn't feel natural to me. Besides the closing track, I really got into tracks 4 & 8.   2 days ago

Fun Fact: no one was in the room with me when I listened to this. There are some good death metal riffs among the pornogrind bounciness. I don't need the samples, but it's just a tiny negative. Not my thing, but fans of gory music and grinding music will be satisfied, I predict.   2 days ago

Some artists out there are not satisfied with creating a few good albums and keep trying to push further into great territory. These 2 members made something even more beautiful than their previous work together and gave me a great surprise even though I figured it would be good. The BM is on the depressive side, but the post-rock & shoegaze element is immensely catchy. Highly recommended.   4 days ago

I had a deathgrind Wednesday, and this album was the high point. Sure, some tracks are just so-so, but most are good or very good, with tracks 6 & 9 being excellent. For an influential veteran band, they sure show as much passion and energy as I expect from a bunch of teenagers.   Mar 27, 2025

Nattverd gives the world another top-tier release. This time, the foreboding moods and torturous sadness stand out for me. Though this is straight black metal, the atmosphere is so intense that fans of atmo black will surely be pleased as well.... and let's just add in all metal fans too - it's that good. 아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

The "Ram It Down" is a very underrated album, but in 1988 in the german Metal Hammer looked like a new classic by the soundcheck.Otherwise the "Ram it Down" and the "Hard As Iron"(with thundering riff) are great fast classic Priest songs.
