The old Cryptopsy ain't turning back even with Lord Worm on vocals, but it sure is an amazing turn of style for the band. Flo is still smashing those drums, the songs are technical as heck, and it was just an amazing listening experience. Jun 25, 2015

A very well made Progressive Power/Heavy metal release. Incorporating sharp metal music with really high vocals reminicent of Rush or Watchtower, this album shows the full potential of Crimson Glory. Jun 25, 2015

A lot like their previous work, this EP release ascertains once again that atmospheric black metal legends Agalloch can make intense, shrill music rooted in such a gloomy atmosphere. Jun 24, 2015

Music from 2001 that sounds like music from Thrash's golden era, the '80s. This means that Sodom's still doing their really-heavy-riff-oriented thrash style and killing it. Their thrash cover of the old surf rock song is worth listening to, so be sure to pick this one up! Jun 24, 2015

Wanna know what punk-influenced German Thrash sounds like? With 100% more Sodom? Spoiler alert: it's pretty damn good. EAT ME! Jun 24, 2015

Woo! This album is really cool. It shows a pertinent mixture of riffs, speed, and thrashing moments. (It's a bit funny that this relatively "fun" album fits between Teutonic Thrash's two most brutal releases.) The Thin Lizzy cover's done very well too. Love it! Jun 24, 2015

Sol Invictus is a very solid release, and also a nice hiatus-ending album from the alternative metal giants Faith No More. Contains awesome songs just like any other FNM album. It really fits right after Album Of The Year, as if nothing has happened regarding their style of music for the last 18 years. Jun 24, 2015

Feels pretty bland for a progressive metal album. As if there is only one atmosphere taking hold of the whole album. Other than that, it's quite a well-made album. Jun 24, 2015

It's quite the list they've got there. They absolutely killed some songs, but some songs they kinda failed. Overall it's a listenable cover album. Jun 24, 2015

Those who dislike clean vocals and Djent: keep away from this album. Jun 24, 2015
Kildneybean 85/100
Awesome songs conveyed through a sludgy, sticky guitar tone. Being quite proggy, it's sounds a lot like Baroness. Jun 24, 2015

I consider this a successful attempt at reincarnating the band. Listening to this album I thought, "man, these swedes really are capable of writing godly riffs!". On a side-note, the artwork inside the booklet was kinda cool too. Jun 23, 2015

This album is still brutal and violent as the previous ones, though it reaches out with a different kind of brutality. Overall it's a nooice turn of style for the band, and it proves Mike DiSalvo era Cryptopsy was perfectly fine. Jun 23, 2015

We should all admit, the term "progressive" is pretty generic. Every so-called prog bands have their own color and taste. Queensrÿche were considered unique when they emerged. However, the band germinated way too many look-alike "prog" bands(DT, anyone?) and soon they weren't that noticable. This is a good album, and it even was an original one back then. It just was too influential. Jun 23, 2015

I certainly wouldn't label this as a quote-unquote "humble" start(ha, that was redundant!), because they made pretty good stuff even when they were starters. What's better is they garner skill through time, and the next few releases showcase their full abilities. Jun 23, 2015

The genre of hard rock was full-blown from its start, especially with this album's release. All in all it's a must-listen. Jun 23, 2015

One of the best Melodeath releases from the UK. Bombards your ears with awesome, melodic riffs but it still maintains its death metal rooted intensity. Jun 23, 2015

I don't give this album a spin very often, but i's an undisputable fact that it's great. One of the classics from the heavy metal spectrum. Jun 22, 2015

The melody is pretty dank in this one. A bit less intense for a Melodic "Death Metal" release, but still kinda good. Jun 21, 2015
Kildneybean 80/100
Melodic death metal, gone too melodic. The melody is pretty good. However, if the song relies on the melodic flow, its death metal aspect dwindles. Which is exactly what happened here. It makes great bigginer metal, but isn't my cup of tea. Jun 21, 2015

Mediocre Melodeath. Nothing really stands out from this album. These guys write good riffs, so there's that. Jun 21, 2015

Full of speed and violence, Kreator's third effort, Terrible Certainty, certainly is brilliant. The 80s German metal scene has a lot to offer. Jun 21, 2015
Kildneybean 95/100
I consider this the best Melodic Death Metal album of all time. Just listen to the riffs. The album loses a bit of intensity at track 5(hence -5 points), but every other song is freaking awesome. Jun 21, 2015

Frankly I skip the third song whenever I give this album a spin, but other than that every single song's perfect. The melodic riffs, vocals full of angst, timely solos, and for a final touch some live recordings of ATG's absolute classics. Jun 21, 2015

This album is pretty freaking dope. The songs are quite unorthodox so it sort of grows on you. Overall it's one of the best DM albums the swedish scene has to offer, along with albums like Left Hand Path. Jun 21, 2015

After a long hiatus, These Techdeath giants have finally returned with a great release! Continuing their style of the 90s, This album proves that Gorguts are still alive&strong. A pretty nice addition to their discography. Jun 18, 2015

A pretty nice listen. This album is said to have set the basis of Metalcore, which soon became a prolific subgenre. Some say the best metalcore releases are the early ones. I kinda think that's a valid statement. Jun 18, 2015

A very well-made sludge album with a bit of progressiveness. Listening to how each song develops through time was a really interesting experience. Jun 17, 2015

Yngwie may not get good points personality-wise, but we should all admit that his guitar techniques cannot be overrated. Not only that, but the awesome guitar riffs and melodies this guy comes up with is close to perfection. Jun 16, 2015

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
