A lot less Death Metal ish compared to the predecessors. Without the awesome melody aspect this album would be a dud, but that simple touch adds a whole lot to the deal. Nov 14, 2015

Melodic Death Metal and clean vocals, for me, really aren't the best two peas in a pod type combination. However these guys don't exhibit the cheesiness or cringiness clean vocals usually do. Pretty amazing work therefore. Nov 14, 2015

Good satan! This is some beautiful melodic Black Metal here. Sorta sounds like early Windir too. Nov 13, 2015

Lifelover's second studio release shows a more musically refined style, which makes the album feel smoothly melancholic as opposed to the rough-gem predecessor. :3 Nov 13, 2015

Beautiful melodies caress the whole album. It doesn't make the album fun though, it's more like unsettling. :O Nov 13, 2015

Vertiginous Brutal Death Metal work. Somewhat Gorguts-esque too, which makes an awesome skull crushing concoction together. Nov 11, 2015

Ho-ly, this is beautiful. The female vocals gravely effect how the album flows, of course in a positive sense. (Is it only me or does the lady on the album cover look like Yngwie Malmsteen?) Nov 10, 2015

I'm the last person to argue about trve metal so this isn't about that. It's just that I don't understand some metalcore bands/albums; namely this one. There's nothing that caught my attention, so to speak. Nov 10, 2015

(The person right below me made a grave grammar mistake in his comment but then saw mine and rewrote his comment. What a guy.)卍Grammar Nazi Alert卍 Grammatical mistake rectification : "Why do metalheads hit each other at concerts?" Is correct, guy! // Now moving on to the actual comment, this is truly an amazing Brutal Death effort. Blows up your prefrontal cortex into microscopic bits. Nov 9, 2015

Cool cool! Mindblowingly br00tal as always and amazing to listen to. Never underestimate a Dying Fetus album. Nov 9, 2015

Chugging exploitation to its fullest. No cool solos or technical guitar parts. Simply chug-chug chug chug chug chugchug-chug chugging sextillion times. Nov 9, 2015

Absolutely love this album! If you're able to resist the incessant brutality that vandalizes your auditory system, props to you. Nov 8, 2015

Around one-third to a quarter of this album is boring. Discolored and tiresome Progressive Blackened Death Metal, I suppose. Nov 8, 2015

Imagine your standard '70s Hard Rock record. This album? Much better than what you just envisioned. Imagine again a much more amazing '70s Hard Rock album. Sorry buddy, but this one's still better than what you just thought in your head. Nov 8, 2015

Very good! Some songs are serene while some make material for impromptu mini dance parties. Nov 8, 2015

Unlike the Norwegian Black Metal scene that was blowing up greatly, Vinterland(VVinterland?) shows quite a different approach on Black Metal, notably with their songs which rely heavily on freezing cold, Surströmming-stenched melodies. Nov 8, 2015

Pretty awesome Black Metal Music. That is, not taking into account the blatent NS label that sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm giving worst on this one because that thumb needs to be severed. Nov 8, 2015

An ill-fated band's dying grandiloquence. Nov 6, 2015

Surely these melodies are out of this world. Nov 6, 2015

USPM with great, powerful melodies and vocals clad with ardor. In simpler terms, it's friggin amazing. Nov 5, 2015

US Power Metal For The Win! An unrefined early Power Metal effort, recognizably bearing some Heavy Metal aspects. Nov 5, 2015

Type O Negative's best work IMO. So many gems in one record = all too much. Nov 4, 2015

Listening to this album one gets busy being stuck inside an icky but translucent goo of eccentricity. Nov 4, 2015

Majestic, moving, and resounding to the emotion. What an impeccable beauty this album is. Nov 4, 2015

Oh Noes! I have been cursed by "the" unholy Matt Pike because I haven't made a comment on this album all this time! You, sir, can save my soul from the abysmal nether region I'm doomed to fall in! All you need to do is give this album a listen. Please... Hurry up! Do it! Nov 3, 2015

How to write a decent Trancecore record: Step one : be British --- Step two : eat nothing but fish and chips only, without ketchup, for a full year --- Step three : repeat step two until you've come up with a decent Trancecore record Nov 3, 2015

Wonder why Greece has a failing economy? This band used up all the financial bass. Nov 3, 2015

That scenery on the cover is exactly the image this album engraves in your brain. And of course, it's such an amazing one. Nov 1, 2015

Germany, when it comes to Thrash Metal, has a thing that I personally cannot resist. What I just said might be logically flawed since there are many other Teutonic Thrash bands that I dislike but whateves. Nov 1, 2015

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
