Outside the big four, unquestionably one of the best thrash metal albums of all time. The power of the riffs and transitions is out of this world. The vocals don't hinder the experience, as happens in some good bands of the genre. On the contrary, the powerful vocals of David Sanchez, who is a mix of Tom Angelripper from Sodom with Tom Araya (specially in the screams in the middle of the songs like in "D.O.A." and others).
"Prepare for Attack" is a good start for this work. A Speed riff with an agressive vocal of David Sanchez.
"Scumbag in Disguise" is another highlight of this album. The dry hits of the drums at the beginning with the riff following them are addictive, and the chorus is wonderful. For me, the best track in the album.
"D.O.A." It has a beginning that reminds me of a power metal song, but then the violence of the guitar makes the thrash sound echo in the ears. The "Dead on arrival" part that David repeats incessantly in the song in the final moments is outstanding. An amazing song.
"Time is Up" has a bass transition right before the start of the vocal part that reminds me of that great bass line in Megadeth's "Take no Prisoners" also right before the vocals. A good track too
In the end, is a fantastic thrash metal album, bringing the old school thrash sound with no innovations. 90/100.

Time Is Up Review (2011)

Read More

Read More
