Well suited for an introductory album to Heavy Metal. Indestructible was more tantalizing for me, but still this album has some pretty catchy stuff. Sep 5, 2015

Average Death Metal work, gleaming with potential. They really need to cut off the time, because listening to the elongated songs for a full hour was a bit painful. Plus the last track was pure cacophony. Sep 4, 2015

These Demilich guys were definitely solid from the start. Being the only Demo release that doesn't have songs from Nespithe, I decided to give this a listen, and was blown away. Just like I was reviving the moment I first heard Nespithe.
And, once again, the vocals totally rule. Sep 4, 2015

This album is one of the few Black Metal records I can listen through with full attention. Horns up for Trve Black Metal!! \m/ Sep 4, 2015

Very raw and unrefined Crossover Thrash Metal. Raw and unrefined also means that the music isn't that well-structured, per se, compared to other Crossover masterpieces like Speak English or Die(which personally I prefer). Sep 4, 2015
Kildneybean 90/100
Cool-ass Thrash Metal filled with aggression from bottom to top. The few Spanish dialogues I can speak include "Yo no hablo español" so I couldn't understand a darn word they were saying but the music sure was amazing. The vocals I liked too. Sep 4, 2015

I found this album out a while ago, when I was just starting to get into Metal. I was reading a bunch of Melodeath recommendation lists, and decided to pick this one up. I was surprised of how bland it sounded while being so good at the same time. Kinda weird how that happens, isn't it? Sep 3, 2015
Kildneybean 75/100
Pretty good, but it sounded like they were trying to be as mediocre as they could. So essentially they put these good riffs, and made it sound like a song from any other technical melodeath band. No creativity present, unfortunately. Sep 3, 2015

A great example that shows how even the greatest Death Metal music and orchestrations don't mix. Very lengthy also, and can be jejune after listening a while. Sep 3, 2015

Duuude. Seriously? This should've been a full release. Wirtten in this style and manner, a forty minute LP can't be un-amazing, right? Sep 2, 2015

Pungent glorious riffages tangled up with Tech Death mastery. I'm just gonna reiterate what I just said; the thrashing riffs are amazing. Sep 2, 2015

A bit weaker than their streak of amazing releases. Still, these guys are Iron Maiden. This means there still are a bunch of catchy tunes and sing along choruses for your pleasure. Sep 2, 2015

A no-brainer Brutal Death Metal album. That means, there'll be no elegant song layouts and complex time signature shifts; just skull crushing brutality for 30 minutes. Sep 2, 2015

I don't know about y'all, but man I sure love myself some good ol' Doom Metal music. Now Candlemass' fourth album, Tales of Creation, did just the trick cause it fit in both the categories. Old, yeah sure, but good also. Just give a listen to the stunning riffs they procure your ears. Sep 2, 2015

The Book : a blackened Heavy Metal album but not quite. Actually, there is much more than that latent on this amazing piece of work. The creativity present is amazing; the riffs and vocalwork are all too creative to the point where you'll feel you'd had enough of 'em for the day. Sep 2, 2015

Breathtaking Progressive Metal at its very finest. They do such elegant work, it feels like their songs are polished and honed so well you can get a glimpse of the essence of what the band wanted to achieve. Sep 1, 2015

Now this, is some cool Old School style Death Metal here. Progressing slow but in a disgustingly brutal fashion, Cenotaph delivers some amazing work you won't see in other bands. Worth multiple listens. Sep 1, 2015

Breathtaking Brutal Death Metal work. Being very deep and profound, it entices you to walk through a dark corridor somewhere deep down the Pharaoh's tomb. Aug 30, 2015

Simply a killer album. See the bloody hatchet on Eddie's hand? That's not there to kill you, because the songs do it for him. Then why is it there? This logical gap is the only flaw on this album. Aug 30, 2015

Even the inanimate lady on the album cover is paying attention to the majestic songs by the Prog Metal masterminds Symphony X. And boy do they do it right. Even the 20-minute-long Divine Wings of Tragedy pins down your ears. Aug 29, 2015

These skilled riffwriters are at it once again, this time with a more "controlled aggression", so to speak. And it's such an amazing album. Aug 29, 2015
Kildneybean 85/100
Like other albums that fall in the category of "weird" Technical Death Metal, this album takes some time to get used to. The unique chord progression used on a frequent basis guides the whole album through a maelstrom of insanity. Aug 29, 2015

A damn straight Finnish Doom/Death album. Succinctly put, the feeling they pull off smothers you. Aug 28, 2015
Kildneybean 85/100
A Song For Black Sun Aeon's nice Death/Doom record. A Song For feels really modern; feels like a mashup of non heavy Opeth with Traditional Doom Metal work. Aug 27, 2015
Kildneybean 90/100
Technical and quasi-experimental Death Metal work that sounds similar to Gorguts and Ulcerate. Gorguts lovers like me dig this album. Aug 27, 2015
Kildneybean 75/100
An above average Atomspheric Black Metal work. For unexperienced listeners like me this album requires some extra attention and patience. Aug 27, 2015
Kildneybean 90/100
Early Heavy Metal phase Crimson Glory, before they went Proggy and stuff. That's why this album feels like a distilled rendition of Transcendence. And why it's so good, Aug 27, 2015

Reeeally amazing work of Modern US Heavy Metal! The melodic riffs, the vocalwork and the songs that spew out so much energy that you'll get imbued with power all came together and made a mindblowing release. Aug 27, 2015

Goodness gracious! This one's fking awesome! Just listen to all the riffs, the speed, the fervor... I know, right? Aug 27, 2015

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
