You can certainly feel that they're good, but the songs feel like a regurgitation halfway into the album. I wish they had incorporated more varied work. Jul 26, 2015

The Converge guys kinda lost some of their early values; crazy psychotic, rapidly changing songs. It's pretty good as it is, but I'd rather prefer Jane Doe or Axe to Fall than All We Love We Leave Behind. Jul 26, 2015

After some more lineup changes, Black Sabbath put out yet another great album. The riffs Tony Iommi wrote are sheer awesomeness, making practically all songs really good. Jul 26, 2015

Great work. Featuring Tony Martin on vocals(whose vocals fit perfectly with the Sabbathy sound), The Eternal Idol turned out to be another amazing album with lots and lots of memorable songs. Hard Life to Love, Glory Ride, and Eternal Idol are the highlights. Jul 26, 2015

"Wait... am I listening to Black Sabbath? It seems like it, cause the cover art says so. Featuring Tony Iommi? Well, duh." was my first impression. After doing some research, this record indeed was supposed to be Tony's solo rock project, but it turned into a Black Sabbath album being all rocky rolly. It is heavy, but not Black Sabbath heavy. Still a lot to expect from Mr. Iommi. Amazing. Jul 26, 2015

Black Sabbath featuring Ian Gillan on vocals seems like a weird combo, but he does it astonishingly well. The evilness carried by the guitar sounds definitely turned up a notch. Another amazing album despite all the turbulent member changes(which gets even intense). Jul 26, 2015

Ronnie James Dio era Black Sabbath record number two; this time featuring Vinnie Appice who would later join DIO. Definitely weaker than Heaven And Hell. But, Tony Iommi's songwriting skill is a force not to be trifled with, because the guy will bombard you with amazing songs once again. Jul 25, 2015

Amazing. I think this is one of the best works of Ozzy era Black Sabbath. Great riffs by Mr. Iommi presented in a rather different style from their previous albums. It's definitely Black Sabbath heavy but has more of a Rock feeling to it. Wonderful work. Jul 25, 2015

A rather abrupt change of style, but still really good. I love how they tried to incorporate multiple styles with the old Black Sabbath feeling. Therefore the songs feel different from their early work but actually sound a lot like Black Sabbath. Jul 25, 2015

A stupendous piece of work! I personally love the pure heaviness, and the proto-sludge/doom feeling that the guitar tone gives. Toni Iommi is just godly! Jul 25, 2015

The Black Sabbath guys never lost their creativity during the '70s. They mix out the early Heavy Metal style(which I guess they pioneered) with their own tinge, making a rather unique album. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as a whole is a very solid album and every track is a must listen. Jul 25, 2015

Disastrous. Sounds like music 12 year old emo kids would like. Jul 25, 2015

Nice above-average album, though the songs sometimes get too complicated for your brain to pick up(overusage of strange time signature changes and such) to the point where it becomes elusive and unmemorable. Jul 25, 2015

Weak compared to their early work, but still the unique song structure incorporating witty riffs and protrusive basslines is great for a listen. Jul 25, 2015

Three amazing albums in a row! A perfect description of their songs is "trippy". You feel high even when you're not just by listening to the songs. Great riffs though(which, I guess, is a must for all over-average Stoner albums). Jul 25, 2015

Amazing cover art, amazing songs that go hand-in-hand with it. Pretty much one of the best records featuring King Diamond. His vocals add a layer of uncanny evilness to the whole atmosphere. Jul 24, 2015

A very fine Mathcore album. Being a very new, original and rather unrefined genre in the late '90s, the Mathcore pioneers surely give some new, unheard of tunes that proceed in an atypical manner. Jul 24, 2015

Three really amazing records in a row. It's really an extension of what they had done previously; great songs and awesome riffs. Jul 24, 2015

These guys kill live. It's surprising how alike their live songs are to studio songs. More new material oriented than the previous live album Exit...Stage Left. Jul 24, 2015

Super amazing. Surely one of the best early Black Sabbath albums. The tracks range from Doom Metal level heavy songs to ballads, which are equally amazing, plus the way the songs flow is seamless. Jul 24, 2015

A very powerful first effort by Whiplash. It's yet another piece of evidence that, Old School Thrash, which germinated and proliferated during the 1980s, had a lot of originality and creativity flowing. Jul 24, 2015

I betcha these guys are one of the best Blackened Thrash bands out there. This album, Beyond The Permafrost, fully explores the subgenre relying mostly on heavily palm-muted guitars with a Black Metal tone. The double layered vocals add a whole lot to the distictive feeling too. All in all a cool record, highly recommended. Jul 24, 2015

Damn straight Old School Heavy Metal. It's just pure Heavy Metal. Other bands sometimes mix it up with a multitude of genres(by using ballad elements, mostly), but these German badasses sure know how to refine Heavy Metal to its very essence. Jul 23, 2015

One of the best records of '80s thrash! The riffs, the aggressive drumming and the sheer brutality they deliver is mindblowing. A must-listen if you are willing to delve into Thrash. Jul 23, 2015

One of the finest albums of the NWOBHM period. Really, it's just your ordinary NWOBHM style work. That doesn't mean the album is generic, it has its own moments full of great guitar and vocal parts. Jul 23, 2015

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
