미국출신으로 Technical Thrash Metal 사운드를 구사한다. Watchtower는 1986년 Zomba에서 내놓은 Energetic Disassembly로 데뷔하였으며, 보컬과 기타 두명의 새로운 멤버를 맞이하여 Noise에서 내놓은 본작 Control And Resistance 은 이들의 두 번째 앨범이다. 잼을 연상시키는 즉흥적인 느낌이 강한데 복잡한 연주속에서도 멤버들의 조화가 톱니바퀴 맞물리듯 하는 것이 신기하기까지 하다. 사운드는 날카로움 그 자체로, 쭈뼛서는 하이톤의 보컬과 스래쉬를 연상케하는 저돌적인 기타리프에 시종일관 난무하는 변박의 리듬섹션을 구사한다. Mekong Delta와 함께 미학적 Technical Progressive Metal의 시초로 생각된다.

The first true Progressive Metal band of all time
Manic technical insanity. There was nothing even remotely close to the progressive technicality going on in metal (or anywhere else aside from Jazz) at the time of this release. So far ahead of it's time that it can still be called an impressive anomaly of musical prowess today.
