King just does too much with his vocals on this one. He needs to tone it back. A few tracks become too cringey to enjoy. There's also gold here though, liberal Thrash and Gothic influence in these songs, "The Exorcist" being the best the band ever did.   Jan 26, 2024

Without a doubt the strongest album they had released at the time. It's powerful, aggressive, yet catchy, and also an entertaining concept album. Despite having a few of the band's peak tracks, it also has scattered poorer tracks as well, in fact opening the album with a dreadful 2+minute intro. Everyone complains about the vocals. Well, I much prefer this vocalist because he actually says the lyrics instead of growling indiscernibly. The music is still great, but unfortunately not nearly as good as the masterpiece BDM of the previous work.   Jan 25, 2024

This thing was too bloated and just not heavy enough for me. Really, there's very little focus on the "Metal" aspect, with the emphasis being placed on the theater-esque performances and concept. 아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

The "Ram It Down" is a very underrated album, but in 1988 in the german Metal Hammer looked like a new classic by the soundcheck.Otherwise the "Ram it Down" and the "Hard As Iron"(with thundering riff) are great fast classic Priest songs.
