I feel this might be the strongest material (yet) this band has made. In a scale of Sventevith to Triumph. Genocide. Antichrist, my brutal-o-meter says this album fits in the dead center of the spectrum. Dec 3, 2015

As an album between Protector's debut album and the magnum opus third album, it definitely feels like a musical bridge between those two. Songs with bunch of superb riffs and better production than the debut? Yes sir! Dec 2, 2015

Brutal brutal Thrash Metal work which goes as far to encroaching the realms of Death Metal. Pretty good stuff. Dec 2, 2015

Града Владимира Путина! Красота стоит 140 очков! Dec 2, 2015

A friggin' legendary EP work. Nothing more for me to say. Nov 30, 2015

Guh. I wanted to write a full review but it takes too much effort, I found out. Anyways this too is an amazing record along with Conan's EP and Blood Eagle LP. Like it a lot. Nov 30, 2015

This ain't boring at all. Actually it's really far from any type or form of boredom inducing element. In other words, this album freaking rules!! Nov 28, 2015

To me, Krisiun's first three albums form an essential Brazilian Brutal Death trilogy. And if the first two albums were Columbus and Magellan, the last album, Conquerors of Armageddon, is the army of conquistadors in my opinion. The title track just decimates your body and soul altogether. Nov 28, 2015

I'm just as satisfied with this one as I'd been with the debut. Very intense and brutal, and what's more, simply amazing. Nov 28, 2015

A grainy, unrefined Brutal Death Metal gem. The insane drumming is what makes this album. Nov 28, 2015

I was absolutely taken away by the song Alpenland. Wasn't unimpressed by the rest of the album. Feels like a Valfar record with less melodies but the same amount of Viking pride. Nov 28, 2015

A "Metalcorified" new gen Melodic Death Metal album, huh. Frankly the melodies are pretty awesome. I do still believe in the "chugging-music inverse proportion theory" tho; the less chugging there is, the better the music is. Nov 28, 2015

Meddlesome clean vocals, endless chugging... Even though I tried to like this album, I just don't feel it deserves more than eighty. I do reckon, though, if the aforementioned two aspects were wiped out I'd dig the album. Nov 28, 2015

It says Symphonic Dark Metal/Doom Metal in the description, and IT'S NOT. Well.. almost. This is one of the most authentic Depressive/Suicidal Black Metal album I've ever listened to. And by authentic, I mean it ain't ridden with atmospheric acoustic stuff.
PS: Some people say this band is NS. They're not. Please recheck your sources b4 making such claims man. Nov 28, 2015

Dunno why, but this album pales immensely compared to the debut. Again, this is very melodic and somewhat proggy Black Metal stuff. The band puts out a distinctive sound; not something you can hear from all those sound-alike bands out there. Nov 28, 2015

Funny, I felt this was more Melodic Black than Progressive Black. This record has some trippy melodies that make blaze-it-n-get-high material. Not that I've ever done that. Nov 28, 2015

Personally I'm not the biggest Funeral Doom Metal fan around, but I know a good record when I hear one. That being said, Lycus does quite the work here with their awesome atmosphere that doesn't make the record boring. Listen to Tempest and feel what I'm talkin' 'bout. Nov 28, 2015

Let the black metal earphoria ensue! This is seriously some pretty awesome work. Kinda sounds like Immortal, but with the straightforwardness bar put to full. Nov 28, 2015

Melodic Black Metal work that takes some effort to get used to. But man it pays off. Nov 26, 2015

Feels a whole lot like Metallica, but way more riff-oriented and speedy. This aspect has its own pros and cons; it's fun to listen to but a bit bland. Nov 26, 2015

I honestly thought melodeath might be in the doldrums. This freaking sucks! Nov 25, 2015

This... is actually pretty good, trust me. Venom finally bid farewell to their Metal Black days, huh? Nov 25, 2015

This album is probably one of the most influential albums in Metal history. In today's criteria the album might feel overrated, but this was surely unblemished work in the early '80s. Nov 25, 2015

Pristine Speed/Black Metal work. It has some eye-opening, marvelous riffs which every metalhead should check out. Nov 25, 2015

Feels like a Death Metal version of Symphonies of Sickness-era Carcass. Absolutely beautiful, hideous work. Nov 25, 2015

Just the right mix of cochlea-ripping heavy stuff and soothingly melodic soft stuff. Quite the enjoyable album! Stone is my personal favorite, the riff is amazingly heavy and catchy. O.o Nov 24, 2015

A reunion album without Layne Staley. Definitely has the eponymous AIC album vibe and is pretty darn good. Nov 24, 2015

If you don't wet yourself listening to Freezing Moon, who the heck are you? Nov 24, 2015

Meager at best. Not that appealing, and some parts were even sleep-inducing. Kinda sad that I can't "feel" a band that's so well praised, but oh well. To each their own, right? Nov 22, 2015

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
