An improvement of heritage, definitely a 70s prog feel, eternal rains, moon above sun below and faith in others are all fantastic songs, river is completely different folky song that’s great. Advent is an amazing song, BRI is awesome seems a little misplaced sound wise but I enjoy it. Night of the silent water is awesome with best acoustic sections. Nectar grows on me each time and to bid you fair well is a great soft song to end the album.   Dec 15, 2024

Hessian peel perfect song, the lotus eater different from any other opeth song with nice psychedelic breakdown. Burden for being super radio friendly is awesome and has awesome solos. The bonus tracks are the best, fleeting glance is decent, the wilde flowers is awful. Sorceress is pretty great. Underrated Album.I don’t really think the transitions are that weird. I feel like under the weeping moon is by far weakest track. Forest of October seems to get the most love it’s a good song. 자기복제에 빠진 프록메탈의 제왕. 삼십년의 세월을 거스를 수 는 없었는지 노력한 티는 많이 드러나나 성공적이었다고는 볼 수 없다. 존의 기타도 차력쑈 이상은 보여주지 못하고 있고 특히 포트노이는 익숙하고 반복적인 패턴의 드럼 필인만을 남발하여 곡에 전혀 도움이 되지 못하고 있다. 다음 작품이 제왕의 운명을 결정하지 않을까 싶다.   Mar 2, 2025

거칠기 그지없던, 정말 올드 블랙틱하기까지 했던 초창기의 사운드가 원시성과 야만성을 충분히 살린 채 정제된 3집. 이들의 명반에 들어가야 한다는 데엔 이견이 없다. 듣다보면 3집까지의 시간동안 이들에게도 여유와 관록이 붙었음을 연주력에서 확실히 느낄 수 있다. 아울러 아직까지는 타협치 않는다는 어떠한 고집도 느끼게 된다. 추억이 방울방울하네.   Mar 2, 2025

아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025
