Amazing Thrash work, I can't believe how I missed this work of ingenuity. Great riffs presented non stop. Aug 27, 2015

Huh. I get how this album is good, but it somehow doesn't catch my ears. Listening through this album multiple times was a boring but weirdly fresh experience. Aug 27, 2015

Such a good Crossover Thrash Metal album! Brings a lot of joy into your eardrums. Oderus was such a fun and awesome guy. RIP man. Aug 27, 2015

A heavily progressing Death Metal album, similar to the works of early Morbid Angel or Cancer. Has its own moments. Aug 27, 2015

Another great Old School Death Metal work, presented in a relatively clean fashion. It has its own great moments. Lots of them. Aug 27, 2015

Tech Death that fits more in the term quasi Experimental Death Metal(Similar to Gorguts). Not sure if that's a solid term but that's certainly the feeling they give off. Listen to this and then to Suffocation, you'll see the difference. Aug 27, 2015

I've got mixed feelings about this album. Think most people do. Mostly because they've taken a great turn from their style before and made a rather twisted version of their old sound(not that Goremageddon isn't twisted.). Listen and judge for your own. Aug 27, 2015

Rotting Christ is not Black Metal. It's something much more than that. Just close your eyes and listen to the euphoric melodies flowing out like crude oil leaking from a wrecked tanker ship. Aug 27, 2015

An enthralling poetry. A work of art. Brb, I'ma reserve a plane ticket bound Andorra La Vella. Aug 27, 2015

More "Black Metal" than their previous release, emanating a rather brutal and gargantuan feeling. It's kind of hard to explain/transcribe the feeling Black Metal albums give into words. Aug 27, 2015

MELISSAAAA!!
I wish King Diamond had used more non high vocals because his more lower pitched vocals sound really nice too. Anyways, there're amazing songs here in this album so you should grab this one asap. Aug 27, 2015

A lil' drop of mass appeal trickled into the pot of Dio-Heavy Metal. That doesn't, at all, mean the album went weak, because Ronnie still kicks butt with this glorious release. Aug 27, 2015

The whole point of this album is to prove how amazing Dio is. That's why it was made. Period. Aug 27, 2015

Exhorder became more powerful with the release of their second album, The Law. It feels more close to the New Wave of American Heavy Metal vein. (Their cover of Into the Void is amazing btw) Aug 27, 2015

Nice heavy stuff, with meh melodic/lighter songs. The album layout itself needs a fix but the individual songs are greatly composed. Aug 24, 2015

Great work! Strangely ominous and evil but so beautiful at the very same time. Don't have a clue on how they pull it off. (Nice basswork too!) Aug 24, 2015

King Diamond's offering to the proliferating mid '80s Heavy Metal world. It follows a different route from the "mainstream" Heavy Metal music from back then, making somewhat new material. Aug 24, 2015

Progressive Metal that has both Heavy and Power Metal in it. Feels like early Crimson Glory covering Iron Maiden. The lyrics are pretty good. Aug 24, 2015

Honestly, around the pillars of transcendental whatever-it's-called was a guilty pleasure to listen to. Excluding that, It's really good, genuine Norwegian Black Metal. Aug 24, 2015

Quite the Black Metal work Varg got here. Cue the signature grainy guitar sounds and them evil vocals! An album praised by Black Metal enthusiasts is born. Aug 24, 2015

Great mixture of Melodies and Black Metal ambience, continuing the trend of previous albums. The last work by Valfar. Aug 24, 2015

Sci-fi ish Death Metal work that gives a feeling that you're in a out-of-power spacecraft with Aliens, except there's no Sigourney Weaver to watch your back so you're on your own. Aug 24, 2015

A pretty amazing Symphonic Black Metal album, once again proving that Ihsahn is a musical genius. Practically a Sympho Black masterpiece. Aug 24, 2015

Deep Purple's unending streak of killer releases during the seventies is a thing not to be trifled with. Aug 24, 2015

Whenever I see the lineup I get shivers thinking of just how much the '70s Deep Purple offered to Rock in general. Aug 24, 2015

Some songs get (superfluously) long, but overall you can safely contend it's a good live record. Aug 24, 2015

*Collapses on floor with foam in mouth* Aug 24, 2015

Those five geniuses struck a fireball of inspiration on the field of Rock. Just listen to how amazing this album is with absolutely monumental songs like Demon's Eye and Fireball. Aug 24, 2015

Somewhat progressive Hard Rock, with bunch of amazing classic tunes like Speed King and Into The Fire. They get better on their next effort. Aug 24, 2015

Eargasm ensues. The cover art is taken from Hieronymus Bosch's painting "The Garden of Earthly Delights". Exactly. Aug 24, 2015

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
