Better vocal performance is good and all, but somehow Rody's singing gives me a seed of migraine. It's too much and no amount of good composition can be saving grace. For artists, there are some songs that are emotionally taxing. Hybrid Theory is, definitely, very exhausting. We cannot expect them to perform such songs or compose those which are in line with such songs, over and over again. Because people should grow out of such phases. I think this album includes their healing process, and damn they did it well. 'The Messenger' is definitely a message to Chester himself(not only his daughter), and I cannot listen to it without tearing up.   Aug 22, 2019

아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025
