There's some really solid black metal on here, but there's tons of atmospheric background sounds between the songs and even in the middle of songs, and I really wish that stuff wasn't there or was greatly decreased. It's a true Achilles heel for this release.   6 days ago

Track 2 switches right into depressive/atmospheric and it's perfect example of how the sub-genre can be great. All right, there's a bunch of different kinds of punk showing up in the mix, but if you don't know anything about those kinds of punk, just don't think about genres and listen to some extremely heavy aggressive music that's just so in the moment. What a class act of a first album: even the ballad holds my attention. After a bunch of years, I realize why I used to listen to this all the time. Get Back is probably my favorite track, but more than individual tracks, it's the relentless energy that makes the whole thing so good.   6 days ago

처음 접한 블랙메탈 앨범이자 가장 애착이 가는 앨범. 분위기 하나는 정말 끝내준다. 이들 맴버들이 흑마술 뭐 이런거에 상당히 심취해 있다는 얘기를 해머하트 사장님에게 들었던 기억이 나지만 라이브 영상을 보니 그냥 평범해 보이는 아저씨들같다 ㅎㅎ 이들의 사이드밴드인 Ha Lela와 Zpoan Vtenz의 음악들도 강추.   7 days ago

아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces.
