Quite underrated if I may say so. Good songs mainly, actually only one clear filler. The production is successful and the singer is Freddie Mercury which makes almost everything divine. I could listen for hours to Freddie singing phone numbers!   Apr 5, 2025

I think it's better than the previous few. There are some genuinely good songs now and the silly songs (e.g. "X Marks The Spot") have thankfully been forgotten. Not a disaster and not even really bad but quite predictable and unfortunately boring. On the album Nightwish does everything worse than on their previous masterpieces and there is nothing interesting. A big disappointment but on the other hand people are too critical.   Apr 5, 2025

Really good album, better than "Blizzard Of Ozz"! Zakk Wylde is a great guitarist, I like him a lot. Ozzy is not the best singer I know but more legendary than all the modern singers combined. Good music.   Apr 5, 2025

개인적으로 가장 애정하는 심포닉 블랙 메탈 밴드지만 1집은 Dimmu Borgir가 욕먹기 시작하던 앨범이나 Old Man's Children 등과 너무 흡사하다는 한계가 분명. 이후에야 좀 더 중후하고 아방가르드한 자신들만의 유니크한 사운드를 들려주게 됨. 독창성은 부족할지언정 멜로디를 정말 잘 뽑아낸 훌륭한 심포닉 블랙 앨범이며 약간의 프로그레시브한 싹수가 보이긴 함.   Apr 5, 2025

아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces.
