I'm sorry, I just don't like this album at all. The songs are really boring and forgettable with one exception ("The Day That Never Comes") and the album is produced so badly that it's impossible to listen to. Kirk Hammett was once an innovative player but on this album he's more like Lars Ulrich with a guitar. Really bad, although it says a lot that it's not even the worst Metallica album.   5 days ago

Certainly the most underrated of the band. The whole album rocks! Really dark and sometimes depressing in terms of themes, but really skillful and containing progressive references. Tony Kakko is a genius and doesn't get enough credit for what he deserves. Great album, the last masterpiece from the band.   5 days ago

Great album, the band's true debut. The song material is perfect and the band's style is truly unique. Phil Anselmo often gets hated on but I think he's a great singer! Listen to "Domination" and "Cemetary Gates", you won't be disappointed.   5 days ago

개인적으로 시크릿 스피어는 좋아하는 밴드가 아님. 고만고만한 파워/심포닉 밴드들과 별다른 차별점도 없으며, 무엇보다 중량감이 없고 힘겹게 부르는듯한 보컬의 톤이 불호 요소. 하지만 이 앨범만큼은 꽤 괜찮게 들음. Dark Moor나 Kamelot 한창 괜찮을 때의 느낌. 하지만 여전히 보컬은 불호.   5 days ago

아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

모던 파워 메탈 특유의 대중지향적이고 댄서블한 면이 분명 있으나 선을 넘어버린 다른 밴드 만큼 과하지 않고 적당하다. 앨범 후반부가 좀 아쉽긴 하지만, 그래도 이들의 앨범 중에선 이 앨범이 가장 마음에 듦.   Apr 5, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. 블랙메탈이 그들만의 폐쇄적인 자기 만족을 벗어나 좀 더 보편 대중 예술의 경지에서도 받아들여질 방법론이 나타난 걸작. 장르에 하나의 이정표를 세웠다는 측면에서 메탈사에 한 획을 그은 명반으로 기록되지만 키보드를 과잉 도입하여 블랙메탈의 순수성을 더럽혔다는 이유로 원리주의자들로부터 공격도 많이 받긴 했다.   Mar 17, 2025
