There are some good tracks, but a bunch are just so bad that it's torture. Aside from that, these guys switch sub-genre in a way that makes it seem like they're trying to find something their old fans will hate. There's a lot of metalcore here, and it's not a good kind. The air of absolute tragedy & pain that surrounds this album just astounded me. Even the ambient mood piece of track 4 has so much drama. Masterful use of melody and the composition feels so full & lush. I can't say enough good things about this album. As good as music gets.   12 hours ago

The giants of symphonic metal add a few sub-genres into the mix for the 2025 album. Some djent riffs. A couple of metalcore breakdowns. It's still mostly their usual sound, but I'm a bit curious if trying new things is going to result in blithering & grumbling from metalheads. Imperishable lean more to the melodeath side on this one, and the result is not quite as good as their more old school death metal 2023 album. However, Cenotaph of Dreams, track 6 here, is the best song I've heard from them yet, so there's still a lot to get excited about with this highly-skilled band.   12 hours ago

아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다.   Mar 19, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces.
