앙꼬없는 찐빵, 닭고기 없는 삼계탕, 김치 없는 김치찌개같은 것을 음악에 비유한다면? Megadeth의 4집에 비유한다면?
아마 Holy Wars...The Punishment Due 없는 Rust in Peace가 아닐까. ㅎㅎㅎ
그런데 사실 1991년 국내에서 "정식"으로 발매된 EMI/계몽사의 이 LP는 가혹한 검열을 피하지 못해 무려 3곡이나 잘려나갔으니 Holy Wars...The Punishment Due와 Take No Prisoners, Poison Was the Cure가 그 슬픈 운명의 대상이다.
어쩔 수 없이 반푼이 앨범을 만들 수 없어 이전의 3집에서 Into the Lungs of Hell(이 4집에서도 1번곡의 영예를 안았다..), Anarchy in the U.K., Hook in Mouth, Mary Jane의 4곡을 업어와 기묘한 4집을 만들어내었다.
지금에 와서 생각을 해 보건데 Anarchy in the U.K.를 빼고 In My Darkest Hour를 넣고, Holy Wars...The Punishment Due가 짤리지 않았다면 아마 엄청난 3, 4집의 베스트 넘버 모음집으로 남지 않았을까 싶다.
